At The Pit and the Peel Rooftop, located in the heart of Richmond, VA, guests can indulge in a vibrant culinary experience coupled with stunning rooftop views. Many patrons have praised the friendly service and laid-back atmosphere, making it an excellent spot for social gatherings. G Mezza notes that while prices are slightly elevated, the drinks and ambiance make it a worthwhile occasion.
Highlighting its diverse menu, Roger Hopper raves about the delicious panini and acai bowls, packed with delicious toppings that elevate the experience. The acai bowls are particularly noteworthy; L B hails the House Bowl as the best in Richmond, describing it as a guilt-free dessert with impeccable flavor and texture. On the other hand, Jose Lopez was pleasantly surprised by the unique twist on avocado toast, enhanced by a layer of pesto that distinctively sets it apart.
While some challenges such as unavailability of smoothies and temporary bar closures were mentioned, the overarching sentiment reflects a charming space filled with fresh greenery and a welcoming vibe. With options ranging from healthy bowls to refreshing drinks, The Pit and the Peel Rooftop promises a delightful visit, beckoning locals and tourists alike.

Nice place to have drinks with friends. Friendly staff. A bit over-priced so it's not a place we would visit often.

Out of town visitor, was looking for avocado toast. Ran into this place amazing experience. The layer of pesto at the bottom gives it a different taste still tasting phenomenal. They also have sugar free coffees. Definitely recommend coming to this place.

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! The House Bowl is AMAZING! I literally ordered it 5 times last week on Uber. It is better than ice cream. Literally. I do not eat sherbet, frozen yogurt, or anything else like it. If you are having an ice cream hankering....and you just want a healthier alternative this is it. Perfect temperature, excellent flavor, amazing consistency. Toppings are just *chef’s kiss*. Great portion for the price. Best acai bowl in Richmond easily. Beach Bowl comes in at a close second. Would eat the House Bowl every. single. day if I could. It’s that good.

Been to both places and not disappointed in the food. The Pit and Pesto panini is my favorite along with the Underworld smoothie.

Atmosphere/vibe 5 stars, food 4 stars Great great spot. Awesome interior/atmosphere, killer rooftop. Thought the food was pretty good. Stretch calling a tortilla a pizza.
